Walkers of Whitehall, 15 Craig court, London SW14 2DD

Situated down a side street, a short walk from Trafalgar square, Walkers of Whitehall serves modern pub classic food in a multi-level converted 17th century bank.

The three floors each offer a different experience. The first floor is a pub serving bar food, the second and third floors, formally the bank vaults, are a dining room and cocktail bar.

We had reservations for dinner and sat in the smart wooden panelled dining room.

There is an extensive drinks menu consisting of draught beers, cocktails, spirits, wines and soft drinks.

There is a pre and post theatre menu available Monday to Saturday between 5 – 9.30pm; two courses for £17.00 and three courses for £21.00.

We decided to choose dishes from the main menu and were not disappointed.

The haddock encased in a crisp light beer batter, was accompanied with hand cut chips, pea puree and homemade tartare sauce. (£12.00)

The chicken and mushroom pie was deep filled with a rich shortcrust pastry and came accompanied with mashed potato, green beans and a jug of to quote DT “the best gravy”. (£11.50)

Both dishes were very tasty, nicely presented, a generous portion size and were served hot to the table.

To accompany our meal, we chose a bottle of Rioja Blanco (£22) which was fruity and delicious.

It was a treat for us to see a cheese board on a pub food menu so we decided to share a cheese plate. Sharing was a good option for us as the portion was very generous, which contained Keens cheddar, onion chutney, apple slices and an assortment of crackers.(£8.00)

If you enjoy quality pub food in smart surroundings with friendly, pleasant and efficient staff then the Walkers of Whitehall is the perfect choice and convenient for anyone visiting the Trafalgar studios and Playhouse theatres.
