Situated in Brindley Place this award winning restaurant serves quality Italian food in a bright and contemporary setting.

The restaurant was very busy for a Tuesday evening. It appeared that most diners were choosing food from the fixed menu that is available for pre-theatre choices. We would recommend booking a table and allowing at least an hour and a half in the restaurant pre-show.

This menu is available Monday to Thursday 12 – 3 and 5.30 – 7 pm.

Friday to Saturday 12 – 7 and Monday to Saturday 10 – 11pm.

With 2 courses at £15.95 and 3 courses for £19.95 this fixed menu is very good value for money.

For our mains we both chose breast of chicken, sautéed new potatoes, served with a cacciatora sauce and a side order of seasonal vegetables. The portions were generous and produce was of a high quality. The cacciatora sauce was delicious! Food was served very hot to the table and was nicely presented.

For dessert I had a classic homemade tiramisu with coffee & amaretto liqueur. This was delicious. DT chose a selection of Italian cheeses served with savoury biscuits, quince jelly, celery and grapes which was beautifully presented.

There is an extensive drinks menu which also includes wines of the month. We chose a bottle of Italian Rose to accompany our meal which was dry and light.

Staff at Cielo were pleasant and efficient. They were welcoming and attentive to all diners at the restaurant despite it being extremely busy.

We would recommend Cielo for anyone who enjoys Italian food in contemporary surroundings. We particularly  liked the water feature set in the wall at the back of the restaurant.

This restaurant is  very convenient for anyone who is attending the Symphony  Hall and The Crescent Theatre as it is a short walk to both venues.

To make a booking visit Cielo online.
